  • how to prepare for your appointment

we recommend that you stop shaving or trimming the hair you want to remove at least two weeks prior to your appointment. it is super helpful if you exfoliate the area well in the days leading up to your appointment as well so that your hair is free of dead skin build up.

when it comes time to do the service you can take the recommended dosage of ibuprofen 30 minutes before your appointment to help with pain and inflammation.

for body waxing, wear loose fitting and breathable clothing and try not to have any big plans after your service that involve physical activity!

  • recommended aftercare

for 24-48 hours after a body waxing service, avoid the following:

sunlight: no exposure to uv rays, no tanning beds, always wear sunscreen on the area you received the waxing service.

soaking: warm water opens your pores and leaves them vulnerable to bacteria and irritation. no baths, swimming pools, hot tubs, or saunas.

scrubbing: no harsh exfoliating, physical or chemical, to the service area.

sweating: no immediate exercise. sweating, as well as the activities that cause it, can promote irritation and possible bacterial infection to your vulnerable hair follicles.

synthetic products: avoid lotions, body washes, or other products with synthetic ingredients. these are usually listed as “parfum / fragrance” on ingredient lists. wear breathable cotton fabrics to decrease irritation and sweating. avoid deodorant on your underarms for 24 hours as well.

    recommended aftercare products

after the initial 24-48 hours is complete, you should begin the following aftercare routine:

exfoliate: exfoliating 2-3 times a week helps get rid of dead skin build-up and allows your hair to grow back without any impediment. use a gentle physical exfoliant such as a salux towel or a chemical exfoliant, such as pfb.

moisturize: fur oil or finipil post-waxing moisturizing cream helps keep the skin on the service area cool and calm, as well as having antibacterial properties. use daily after showering for best results.

both of these products are available for purchase at the studio.

    recommended follow-up appointments

waxing is most successful when it is done consistently. maintaining a regular schedule of 4-6 weeks between waxes allows for a good amount of hair regrowth without breaking off and damaging your hair in between appointments. consistency is the key factor to getting your hair on the same growth schedule and maintaining a longer smooth time between services.

  • a contraindication is anything (including a symptom or medical condition) that is a reason for a person not to receive a particular treatment or procedure because it may be harmful to them.

    • accutane: you must be off accutane for one year before resuming waxing.

    • irritated or inflamed skin and active wounds.

    • experiencing an active sunburn.

    • utilized a tanning bed within the last 24 hours.

caution and consultation must be used when a client has the following contraindications:

    • exfoliants such as: salycilic acid, glycolic acid, alpha hydroxy acid.

    • psoriasis, eczema, or rosacea.

    • severe varicose veins.

certain conditions or treatments may make one more sensitive during waxing:

    • menstrual cycle.

  • Springtime Studio is located at 2242 Carter Ave. We are inside the Milton Square building in the St. Anthony Park neighborhood in St Paul. The building is off the intersection of Como and Carter Avenue.

Our entrance is the first doorway when you leave the parking lot and walk down Carter. There is a ramp to enter the building. We keep our front door locked for client safety and privacy but there is an electronic door bell, please ring it and one of us will unlock the door for you either ourselves or from our phone if we are with a client. If we are still with clients, please have a seat in the waiting area. There are detailed instructions for how to get to the bathroom below!

We have a bistro table out front during good weather that you are also welcome to wait at. You may also wait in your car if you’d prefer. Just shoot your provider a text to let them know you’ve arrived.

These are general spots available to all guests of Milton Square. There are some residential parking spaces for people who live in the building, please be mindful and do NOT park in these spots.

There is also ample off street parking directly in front of the studio and into the neighborhood on Carter Ave.

  • Stuff happens! We get it! We do suggest you try to show up for your appointment at least 5 minutes early, especially if it’s your first time here! questions

can i wax while i’m pregnant?

Yes! You can wax right up until you give birth if you want to. Many clients choose to wax before having a baby for a variety of reasons - they are already in the habit, mobility gets more difficult, potential for unexpected surgical procedures, sometimes it’s just nice to have a self care moment during a fairly exhausting experience! No matter the reason, it’s perfectly safe to wax while you're pregnant. After you give birth I suggest you wait at least 4-8 weeks post-partum to get your next wax. As always with everything, taking the advice and direction of your doctor / obgyn is paramount!

can i wax on my period?

yes! you can wax while you are on your period as long as you are comfortable wearing a new tampon or a menstrual cup. if you are not comfortable with either of these methods then we can reschedule no problem! I have clients who are menstruating all the time and this is not an issue for me as your provider in the slightest. waxing while menstruating can sometimes make people slightly more sensitive to discomfort during services so If you are concerned you can take the appropriate amount of otc pain reliever 30 minutes before your appointment.

what if…?

…i’m scared / embarrassed / nervous / worried that my hair is too long / i just had a baby / i am a fat person / i am queer / i am trans / i am disabled / i feel like my body is weird etc etc?
